Talking about the oral health issues, the biggest issue you would want to avoid is the impacted teeth. There is no way you can control the size of your mouth or how the impacted teeth grows in. since it is the biggest issue considering oral health, you can’t do much about it but luckily there are some treatment options you can consider having the impacted teeth issue.

Symptoms:

It might happen with some people and they might not notice any problem with impacted wisdom teeth, while the others could feel the obvious symptoms. 

The impacted wisdom teeth might break through the gums and part of the gums can be seen. It is called partially impacted wisdom teeth. The partially impacted teeth might cause food to become trapped and it could make teeth cleaning even more difficult. It could be very painful also for some people. 

The impacted tooth gets infected or causes other issues; you might feel the following symptoms like:

  • Pain or swelling around the jaw
  • Red or Bleeding gums or the swelling in the gums
  • Bad breath
  • Unpleasant taste in the mouth
  • Problems in opening the mouth

Impacted teeth diagnose:

 The impacted teeth can be diagnosed by your dentist examining your teeth and taking a normal x-ray of your mouth. The x-ray would let you know if the teeth are impacted or if the teeth or bones are damaged. 

Treatment: Your dentist might suggest taking out the teeth if it causing symptoms of impacted teeth or causing dental problems. 

The surgery to remove the impacted teeth won’t take too much of time and you can go home the same day. The dentist or oral surgeon would do the surgery, which is known as impacted tooth extraction. 

While the surgery the dentist will make a cut in you gum and take out the effected bone before removing the impacted teeth. The incision would be closed by the stitches and pack the space with gauze.
